The problem of utilization of distillers grain is one of the key problems in the industry since its origination. This problem had the most serious impact on the development of the industry, particularly on the locations of distillery’s and their unit capacity.

It should be noted that utilization of distillers grain is a complex process; there is no cheap, convenient and reliable utilization method in the world thus far.

Like with many similar problems related to waste utilization, there are two aspects of the problem of utilization of distillers grain:

- on the one hand, distillers grain is a dangerous waste which causes environmental pollution and must be recycled. The problem of utilization of distillers grain is embodied in the legislation of different countries;

- on the other hand, dried distillers grain is a valuable protein product which, depending on production method and final chemical composition, can compete as a protein supplement with soy oil meal and sunflower oil meal.

Throughout the period of its activity in the market, LLC “TKS Service” has developed and offers the processing methods and processing equipment which allow you to perform initial separation of native distillers grain and subsequent drying of dehydrated concentrate of distillers grain with minimal investment and production cost yet high efficiency. The single-unit performance of operating dryers in terms of evaporated moisture reaches 6000 kg per hour.

The basic equipment of the processing lines, which form the core of pro-cessing method, consists in highly efficient dryers which embody the principle of cross heat transfer in a fluid-bed (fluidized-bed) and, depending on customer's demands, use different types of heat agent, such as:

  • products of combustion of natural gas (propane-butane) blended with air;
  • saturated steam at a pressure of 8 bar;
  • products of combustion of low-ash and sulfur-free solid fuel (wood pellets, wood chips, straw, fuelwood, etc.) blended with air;
  • their random combination.

The utilization of distillers grain by means of this processing method allows using the existing low-grade auxiliary heat of the plant (heat from lutterwater, distiller's filtrate, etc.) with maximum efficiency and flexibility.

We can also complete the set of the drying lines with mixing heat generators of required performance, running on natural gas or propane-butane, as well as with separation, air purifying and auxiliary equipment.

Due to distinctive features of their operating principle, specific output performance of the fluidbed units is 10 to 30% higher than that of conventional dryers on the market (drum dryers, rotary dryers, disk dryers, etc.)
